Forget Slack, Discord, or (heaven forbid) Skype. Information technology's time we all sick o'er to FroggieChat, a discharged throwback to the best chat node of all—the Nintendo DS's made-up-in Pictochat.

A "faithful remake" of Pictochat for Windows and Mechanical man, FroggieChat is developer StupidPlusPlus' nostalgic gut punch for anyone who grew up with the original Nintendo Darmstadtium. Painstakingly recreating the look and feel of that delightful little client, the dev has added a few new features—from extra drafting colours to a "suggestion" button for generating drawing prompts.

FroggieChat may intentionally only beat up local wifi networks—a consider conclusion, considering the original Pictochat's limitations. Merely with a hypothetical limit of 65535 members per chat room and the magic of virtual networks, I reckon some clever folks out in that respect could set up a viable replacement to conventional chat apps.

FroggieChat is available for unblock over on Itch, though a $1 "Deluxe" edition wish grant you unnecessary drawing colors and a trifle crown over your name. The free version is also available for Android via Google Playing period, though I found the in-app keyboard a bit too itsy-bitsy on a sound screen.

Like a sho, if you'll excuse Pine Tree State, I'm now off to try win over Approaching's top brass to ditch Slack in favour of a PC Gamer FroggieChat lobby.
